Questions We Get a Lot
Aluminum pergolas like our Matte Black 8 Ft. X 8 Ft. model are virtually maintenance-free, resistant to rust and rot, and built for long-term outdoor exposure without repainting or sealing. Cedar wood pergolas, like our 10 Ft. X 10 Ft. Traditional model, offer a warmer, more natural aesthetic and can be stained or treated to match your existing outdoor décor — they do require occasional upkeep to preserve the wood over time.
Permit requirements vary by city, county, and HOA, so we always recommend checking with your local building authority before installation. Most freestanding pergolas fall under accessory structure rules, and size thresholds (often under 200 sq. ft.) frequently exempt them from permits — but confirming locally protects your investment and keeps your project on track.
Our 16 Ft. W X 12 Ft. D Aluminum Pergola with Dark Gray Retractable Canopy is designed to provide shade and light rain coverage, but we recommend retracting the canopy during heavy storms or high winds to extend its lifespan. The aluminum frame itself is built to withstand the elements year-round with minimal maintenance required.
Pergolas ship free to the continental U.S. and are typically delivered via freight carrier due to their size and weight — you'll receive tracking information once your order ships. If for any reason your pergola arrives damaged or isn't the right fit, our 30-day return policy has you covered so you can shop with confidence.

From beautifully crafted wood pergolas that offer timeless charm to sophisticated aluminum designs with adjustable louvered roofs, our collection features a variety of styles and sizes to complement your outdoor living space. Whether you're creating a shaded dining area, an inviting outdoor lounge, or a resort-inspired backyard retreat, our pergolas provide the perfect foundation for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying the outdoors in style.
Choosing the Right Pergola for Your Space
When selecting your pergola, consider the size of your outdoor area, the amount of shade you prefer, and the architectural style of your home. Traditional wood pergolas bring natural warmth and character, while powder-coated aluminum designs offer a sleek, contemporary appearance with relatively low maintenance. Adjustable louvered pergolas provide added flexibility, allowing you to control sunlight and ventilation throughout the day.
Before purchasing, carefully review the pergola's dimensions, available installation space, anchoring requirements, and weather-resistance specifications. Consider whether you prefer a freestanding structure or a wall-mounted design, along with optional features such as privacy curtains, mosquito netting, integrated drainage systems, or adjustable roof panels. Proper installation and secure anchoring are essential for long-lasting enjoyment.
Whether you're designing an intimate garden escape or a spacious outdoor entertainment area, discover pergolas that combine thoughtful craftsmanship, beautiful design, and everyday functionality.
